Couples | A Moody Wooded Engagement feat. Cabin Ruins & Critters

Carmen and Mitchell’s engagement session had the most lovely inner city location, but you’d never believe it. The small park is heavily wooded and interspersed with cabin ruins from an early 20th century club that resided on the property, as well as, some frighteningly friendly deer. I’d been hoarding the location for over a year, waiting for the right couple to come along. When Carmen expressed that they wanted simple, romantic portraits out in nature I immediately remembered the spot. They seemed to be a couple that trusted my vision, and when I suggested the park they quickly agreed.

I knew going in it would be a fun shoot. Although I’d never met Carmen or Mitchell in person, Carmen was super friendly and easy to talk to on the phone when she called to book. We even have a mutual friend! Upon meeting them both, they had a warm easy going nature, and a great style. They couldn’t have been a better fit!

I can’t get over how lovely and intimate these images turned out, and am so stoked for their wedding next fall!!!
