Couples | Light and Love and Ukueles

Abegail and Joe were really looking for an urban spring engagement, but timing and scheduling made that difficult to work out. So I came up with something a little different to make sure we could get all of the flowers in these photos even though it was still winter.

I’d only met with these two once prior, when their wedding plans were only first starting. I knew from their reaction to my work that they thought we’d be a great fit, but since their plans were so new I hadn’t yet gotten a good sense of who they really were stylistically. This shoot answered a lot of those questions, and oh my gosh they were definitely an ideal fit for me. Super easy in front of the camera, requiring very little direction, and they even brought their ukueles along.

This was an utterly magical shoot, and definitely woke me up from my winter hibernation. I am so excited for more flowers and warmth and spring and love.
