Wedding | A Natural History Inspired DIY Wedding

Taylor and Dustin’s brunch wedding was truly one of a kind. From the quaint chapel where they said their ‘I do’s’ to the video game store where they first met; their wedding was quirky, fun, and darkly romantic. I almost flipped when they suggested we take their wedding portraits in the natural history museum across the street from the chapel. I’ve been relatively obsessed with natural history displays since I was a little kid, and the opportunity to use them as backdrops for some truly unique bridal portraits was an amazing opportunity.

To be honest, I was really feeling wedding season by the time I made to this wedding. I was feeling burnt out and trying to force myself off autopilot. Every photographer does this. (If they say that don’t, they’re lying.) Because these two were so warm and fun to work with, in addition to the amazing portrait locations they’d chosen this quickly became one of the most fun weddings I captured this year. Did I mention this was also a totally DIY wedding? All their floral and table decor was created by the mother of the bride, even down to growing and potting their succulent wedding favors!
