Lifestyle | A Gothic Maternity Session at a Haunted Mansion

When Emily approached me about shooting her maternity photos I was overjoyed! I’ve watched her proposed photoshoots pop up from time to time; each perfectly themed and beautifully moody. However, I was particularly enchanted with this proposition (although you could say I’m a bit biased) because she wanted a gothic style shoot at the Vaile Mansion. I’d never actually heard of Vaile before she brought it to my attention, and by looking at it online I was instantly excited! However, upon arriving to the site the day of I loudly gasped as the mansion came into view. It was bitterly cold and very windy, the gardens that lined the walkway were charmingly unkempt, and the late afternoon clouds cast ominous light on the looming mansion. It was the perfect day for this dark and dramatic session.
