Wedding | A NYE Wedding with Vintage Eclectic Flair
Maren & Ethan provided the perfect end to quite possibly the strangest year of my life. From the beautiful and modern Inn at Meadowbrook to the romantic and quaint Fountainebleau Clubhouse; stylish and festive doesn’t began to describe the intention and thought put into planning this day. This “not quite micro” New Year’s Eve wedding won’t soon be forgotten!
When I first met Maren & Ethan they were planning a very large celebration at a completely different venue. I was charmed by their stylish midcentury home and their longhaired tortoiseshell cat, and was elated for the celebration to come. Clearly Covid had other plans, and a few weeks prior I was informed that while they still planned to tie the knot they had greatly reduced their guest count and changed to a different venue. This had happened with so many couples at this point I didn’t think much of it. The party I had pictured wasn’t happening, and so I arrived on their wedding day uncertain of what would play out.
I think most couples have this idea that since they can’t have a large wedding then they can’t have a full wedding experience. I’ve been to many different versions of Covid-era weddings, but of them all Maren & Ethan seemed to really get it right. They choose to still make a day of it; to have the get ready portion, the portrait portion, a dj, an absolutely exquisitely designed ceremony, and beautiful dining hall. Florals, rentals, matching masks, delicate little bottles of hand sanitizer, the works! All of this with no more than 25 guests and appropriate safety procedures. They didn’t seem remotely held back by the restrictions, but had embraced them in such a way that was intentional, safe, and utterly beautiful.
