Wedding | A Lavish, Inspiring Hindu Ceremony & Reception

Rajvi & Nish’s three day wedding celebration was a true masterpiece. So much so, that I had to narrow my blog post down to only cover day three which consisted of a very early call time (5:30am) and ended well into the night. The final day consisted of three ceremonies— one involving a full blown parade through the venue parking lot, which had other hotel guests outside watching— many many performances, speeches, and dances from family and friends, as well as, some of the most beautiful, transformational décor. Only twice have I ever teared up at a wedding, and this was one of them.

At the end of the weekend I was so so proud of myself and my team for not only making it through this incredibly complex job, but doing it well. Looking back through the images it dawned on me that this is some of my best work, and I don’t think this was lost on my associates either. Walking out to my car on the last night Riley said “Maybe we should just specialize in Indian weddings.” I jokingly brushed her off saying something along the lines of I wasn’t sure I could handle shooting multiple Indian weddings in one year. However, it wasn’t lost on me how much our documentary-editorial hybrid style flourished with a wedding structured as this one; one event simply flowing into the next without much time in between. Plus, whether I really believe I can shoot multiples in one year or not, I’m shooting at least two more in 2024.

The cherry on top of this phenomenal experience was Rajvi’s stunning review of my services. These are the reactions that make all the hours of work absolutely worthwhile. She wrote:

Juliana Noelle Jumper,

I find myself staring at your work, your eye for art is so evident in what you create. I knew when I first saw your spread in THINE, that I had to have you photograph our wedding events.

Every image is colored expertly, framed brilliantly, and expresses raw emotion. I feel honored to have you trusted with these memories forever. You run your business with such thought and diligence, I could recognize that from the first interaction I had with you. I feel genuinely indebted to you and your willingness to explore, reach, and design. Your soul is of true creativity - in the most beautiful form.

Of course, I feel a sense of kismet that you were right here in Kansas City and even though we had vendors come in from all over the country, finding you feels like fate to me. I could not find anyone else who measured up to your eye for detail and standard. You wow me, I thank you for giving me that since of giddiness and pure joy from opening your galleries! Thank you for your thoughtfulness, professionalism, and amazing energy.

Also, Rangefinder Magazine was apparently impressed with these images as well, as they used my favorite portrait from this wedding for my finalist profile. You can see that HERE.
